There is no time like the present to put a solid strategy in place to start winning more business in 2020!

The period of time before any tender is released is called the Pre-Tender phase and it is during this time that you can strategically position your business to be ahead of your competitors.

So how do you know when a tender will be released?

First of all, most government agencies have what are called planned procurement or future opportunity notices where you can look for upcoming tenders and start planning ahead for their expected release date.

You can, and should, also start getting noticed by networking with your customer and inadvertently expressing interest by showcasing the value of your goods and services to show how you meet their needs and wants.

  • Register and continuously check for planned / future opportunity notices across multiple channels such as local, state and federal government agencies including councils. ⠀

  • Network with your customer, primes, head contractors and managing contractors. ⠀

  • Arrange meet and greets with the customer. ⠀

  • Continuously promote your business across social media channels.

  • Target your social media advertising to your customer. ⠀

  • Place advertising promoting your goods and services aimed to solve your customers needs in their field of vision.... as an example place billboards down the street from their head office so they get to know you by association. ⠀

So what else do you do in the pre-tender release phase?

Great question!! Here are some initiatives to kickstart your 2020 so you can plan ahead and and be tender ready by starting the tender process at the pre-tender release phase: ⠀
