About Creative Pitches

Who and where are you?

First and foremost my niche is bid and tender writing. My superpower is choosing the right words to strategically position you to win more to grow your organisations. I also love general copywriting and creative projects to support your marketing collateral.

I'm also the FIRST APMP Foundation Member in the Northern Territory. I pride myself on being a winning work champion as I’m dedicated to the process of winning business through tenders, bids and proposals.

Let's go back in time even further..... I was born in Melbourne and grew up in Perth from 6-16 years of age, I then moved to Darwin where I have been since September 1994.

Today, borders have no boundaries in the digital world so I’m lucky enough to complete work for clients all over Australia.

So what do you actually do?

I'm a corporate copywriter that specialises in tenders, bids and proposals and accompanying marketing collateral. My expertise is to pitch your business to win more funding, business {tenders, bids and proposals} and awards. I love working on accompanying marketing collateral such as capability statements, websites and other fab projects too.

What are your qualifications?

I have a fancy certificate from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals aka APMP ANZ. That means I’m a certified Foundation Member {I studied and sat an exam} as I’m super dedicated to best practise in the process of winning business through proposals, bids, tenders and presentations. I’m now studying towards my Practitioner Level Certification.

FACT: APMP is the world’s first, best and only industry-recognised certification program for professionals specialising in tenders, bids and proposals.

ANOTHER FACT: I was the first person in the Northern Territory to gain this qualification in December 2018.

Can I afford you?

Great question! Reality is it all depends as no two projects are the same, and as for tenders my level involvement varies. Most projects are “as quoted”, tenders are hourly, daily or per project, and small creative and copywriting projects starting from $300 and upwards.

As tenders are our jam here's our ballpark:

Small Tenders
8-15 hours
$1280 - $2400

Medium Tenders
15-30 hours
$2560 - $4800

Complex Tenders
30+ hours
$4800 +

Do you complete projects all over Australia?

I sure do! Thanks to the fab technology we have today borders are no boundary. I have clients scattered all over the country from Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Sydney and some multinational companies thrown in.

Are you also a graphic designer?

I wish I was that talented!! Fortunately for me, and you, I have connections with some really great graphic designers whom I partner and collaborate with on projects. If you already have a designer in-house or lined up that’s cool too.

Sidenote, I am a whiz with Canva so I can also set you up to manage some creative marketing tools and a bid library to boot in house.

Bid & Tender Services

How long does it take to write a tender?

This all depends on the tender, the level of information you have, the level of involvement you want me to have in the process and the overall complexity of your solution. In a nutshell, a proposal worth several million dollars will take significantly longer than a lower tier council or government tender.

What I don’t recommend is leaving any tender to the last minute {it sucks, can be stressful and I also charge rush fees} or throwing your hat in the ring for contracts you don’t care to win as much as another.

So how on earth can you help us if you don’t know our business?

In the tendering world I’m now considered an old hand as I have the skills, knowledge and several years experience to assess where you are at and identify what I need from you and your team to create a competitive bid.

Will you work on competitors tenders for the same contract?

HELL NO. When you work with me you have absolute assurance {it’s in the contract} that you have an exclusivity arrangement for that tender. If you would like a long term exclusivity arrangement we can discuss a retainer package to secure my services for the medium to long term.

Do you offer a discount?

The great thing about tenders is that the more often you engage my services the more I get to know your business and the more refined your submissions become. This means that you start to see a return on your investment from the first engagement as future submissions won’t take as long to prepare {depending on complexity}.

What I value the most is the b2b relationship that is formed between us where you are more than welcome to pick my brains, call or email me or I’ll call or email you when something of interest to you comes up.

We’ve prepared a draft tender, can you check it for us?

I sure can. Check out our bid and tender review services here.

Do we get copies of all the documentation?

You sure do. You will receive copies of your submission in word and PDF versions. On a side note, I am the owner of the copywriting until full payment has been received. Failure to pay could result in me requesting your submission be withdrawn from the closing list and/or debt collection proceedings.

Though some things that were prepared by a graphic designed will only be provided in PDF and the design files owned by the graphic designer.

Copywriting Services

What kind of copywriter are you?

Great question, I specialise in corporate copy and communication, but also dabble in conversational and educational copy for creative projects, blogs and social media. Reach out and we can discuss if we are the right fit.

How many reviews will I get?

The industry standard is 2 rounds of revisions, but don’t worry, minor changes {like a word or two} are okay but anything beyond that will be charged at an hourly rate or part thereof.

How will you know about me or my business?

A big part of all copywriting assignments is the research I undertake where I look for and research your competitors, your industry, target audience and ideal customer. From there I take note of what is and isn't so amazing, find out what is ground breaking and how you are unique from your competitors.
