Tools I swear by

“What’s that tool you are using?” I hear you ask…..

Here are my now “not so secret” tools of the trade that assist me in how I manage the complexities of my client’s bids, projects and my business, all the while working solo. I’m often asked what do I use or recommend so here’s a look at what’s in my tool bag.

Adobe Acrobat Pro

This is my must have as it gives me everything I need to easily create, edit, share, and sign PDF documents from anywhere. The best part is I can combine PDF documents together and do away with a-lot of those attachments for tenders, bids and proposals. I can also make last minute text edits without having to go back to MS Word.

Canva

Canva is a graphic design platform that allows users {us mere mortals that aren’t graphic designers} to create social media graphics, presentations, posters and other visual content. It is available on web and mobile, and integrates millions of images, fonts, templates and illustrations. I use Canva for image placements and bid / tender library creation so client’s can manage in-house.

Flodesk.

An easy as pie and funky email campaign marketing tool to grow your business. Dozens of templates to use, plus convert leads with forms designed to match your brand on any device. You can also build workflows and marketing automations so you can make money while you sleep. Here’s 50% off your subscription when you join.

WeTransfer

WeTransfer is the simplest (and in my opinion the fastest) way to send your digital files around the world. The best part is being able to share large files up to 2GB for free. With a paid account you can send up to 20 GB , password-protect your transfers, manage and store undefined of transfers and have your own URL and custom Pro page.

Hemingway Editor

This free tool is a godsend and one of the best kept secrets in copywriters land. Cut and paste or type away and edit away. The app highlights lengthy, complex sentences and common errors with colour coded highlighting so you can mouse over them for hints. Once done you can copy and paste your copy back where it came from.

TeamGantt

TeamGantt is the refreshing solution that brings project scheduling software online with drag and drop simplicity. You can also invite your co-workers, teammates, and external consultants to view and edit your gantt chart. This program is one of my favourites and is an excellent choice for those moving from excel or have never created gantt charts before. Perfect for all industries.
